Meet The Cultivator - Heather Carrizales

Hello, plant lovers!

I’m Heather — a small-town Idaho lady living in Caldwell, raising a family, wrangling two completely unhinged French bulldogs, working full-time as an Addictions Counselor, and chasing a Master’s in Social Work on the side. Life is busy, chaotic, and usually involves dirt under my nails... which honestly, is exactly how I love it. 🌿

The Plant House started as a personal passion project—a love letter to digging in the dirt, wearing tees that say “hoeing ain’t easy,” and dreaming up something that brings people together. What started small has grown into a space rooted in community, connection, and all things green that make us feel a little more alive.

One of my favorite projects has been setting up an "honor stand" outside my greenhouse to share plants and seeds with neighbors and anyone who stops by. The response has been amazing! 🌱 It inspired me to think bigger: I'm growing the Plant House 208 community to explore and fund horticultural therapy, offer skill-building opportunities, and network with others who believe in healing and recovery from addiction beyond traditional talk therapy.

Here at The Plant House, we believe in keeping things simple, sustainable, and just the right amount of sass. We’re here for the plant lovers, garden newbies, backyard farmers, and anyone who gets way too excited about fresh basil or a good compost bin.

I’m also diving deeper into houseplants, eco-friendly products, and self-care goods that promote overall happiness. And I’m working to host local events like vegetable start sales, plant swaps, and expanding the honor stand to make fresh, local produce more accessible. Plus, I love highlighting other small businesses because growth means more when it’s shared.

Whether you’re here for a new favorite tee, a tool that actually works, or just a reminder that growth is messy, imperfect, and totally worth it—welcome. The Plant House is your place too.

Now go water something. Or don’t. I won’t judge. 🌸🌿Thanks for being here and for helping this dream grow!
